Brief: Nigerian National Anthem: Our  Ebbing Heritage Report

This research report is titled ‘The Nigerian National Anthem - Our ebbing heritage’. The report is the first issue of the ICR Diary of Social Research. The report attempts to estimate the percentage of Nigerians that can correctly recite the Nigerian National anthem.

Using qualitative methods of direct observation and informal interviews, the researchers surveyed school students, politicians, Musicians and other classes of the Nigerian society.
.

The report is of the opinion that only about 3.7% of Nigeria's 105 million literate population can recite the national anthem correctly and suggests critical steps that should be taken to tackle the situation and ensure the continuous survival of our national heritage.

Of these 3.85 million, 44.1% are 25 years and above, 53.77% are between ages 12 and 24 while 2.13% are between ages 9 and 11.
